MacDonald’s art involves around themes of interdependence of mutually dependent life forms, the transitory nature of existence and re-purposing personal obsolete technologies into sculptures.

AWARDS
MacDonald's commercial photography for Ringling College of Art and Design viewbooks has received three national ADDY awards from the American Advertising Federation. Two of the viewbooks received first place gold and one received a second place national silver ADDY award.
His fine art photography received first place recognition in an international photography competition by photoworkshop.com, Canon cameras and Agfa film in May 2000.
